Today, I wanted to document the work that was completed by creating a spreadsheet on every image in the four volumes of the Neiman Marcus scrapbook. My project goal was to complete at least 50 cross-references. By the end of the project, I was able to complete 188!

My Excel spreadsheet lists every image, with the designer's name, accession number, and status, so that as progress continues on this project, you can see where I left off. I attached a PDF file for easy reading and the Excel file so that you can add and edit it, or you can sort it by designer or any other method. I also provided a summary of the pages and what I was able to edit, which is listed on the first page.

This is what I accounted for:

The four volumes contain about 340 images. (Some images are alternate views of the same garment.)

There were about 156 accession numbers using the "N-M" number on the scrapbook that came up empty on the TFC metadata. Meaning, there was no photo or any metadata at all.

When this happened, I would also do a search using the alternate number found on the scrapbook page, or I would do a name search if the page provided a designer's name. Then, I would look to see if the thumbnail image looked like the scrapbook image. Testing it that way only worked once, when I found an image that still had the 1900 accession number.

80 images came up in the TFC metadata but not in the TFC collection site. I still added the known information to the DL metadata site and vice versa, minus the collection page info since there was none.

There were 108 images that had complete information in the TFC metadata and were also in the TFC collection site. So, full complete information cross-references the collection site and accession number in the DL metadata as well as in the TFC metadata Notes section.

So, I was able to complete 188 cross-references, which was one of the major projects the TFC team wanted completed!
